JDBC Basics

Finally starting with what I really wanted to cover since a long time.

What is JDBC?

JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) is an API  which connects your Java applications with a wide range of databases and data sources. A data source can be a DBMS, a legacy file system, or some other source of data with a corresponding JDBC driver.

JDBC allows you to create applications that communicate with the Databases. Whether it’s a stand alone application or a web application, you will like to store some kind of data to be used again. The data is mostly stored in Databases and JDBC allows you to work with Databases.
